Umenoyado Shuzo, Banzai Crazy Milk Nigori 720ML

The Bottle: Sake is made by fermenting rice that has been polished to remove the hull. Sake is produced by a brewing process akin to that of beer, where starch is converted into sugars which ferment into alcohol.

The Producer: Umenoyado Brewery was founded in 1893 in the prefecture of Nara, Japan’s first capital and the birthplace of Japanese civilization. Nara boasts the oldest sake brewing traditions in the entire country.

The Why:Nigori sake is made when rice mash is left unfiltered in the bottle, giving it natural sweetness and a creamy texture. Fairly light on the cream, compared to other nigori sakes, it has delicately fruity notes.
