The Producer: In 2003, Michael Schmelzer moved from America to Italy where he acquired the Monte Bernardi vineyards. He began farming biodynamically and has done so ever since. He also produces awarded single varietals.
The Why:The organic red has hints of baking spice on the nose. The palate opens with ripe red berries and gives way to big cherries and dark spice on the finish. Primarily Sangiovese, this wine is the perfect pizza wine!
