GAI'A Monograph Agiorgitiko 2018 750ML

The Bottle: Agiorgitiko (pronounced ah-yohr-YEE-tee-koh) is an indigenous grape of Greece, grown primarily in the region of Peloponnese. The wines from this grape are highly fruity with low acid and can be served slightly chilled.

The Producer: Established in 1994 by Leon Karatsalos and winemaker Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, Gai'a Estate (pronounced Yay-ya) began on Santorini. They've since expanded their operation onto the mainland.

The Why:Vinified in stainless steel, this wine is a great expression of what reds from Greece can be. Light in body, the wine opens with ripe cherries and pomegranate which gives way to a smooth, hard candy finish.
