The Bottle: Vouvray is the sub-region of the Loire known for wines made from the Chenin Blanc grape. Vouvrays can be made dry, off-dry or sweet (moelleux) and even sparkling depending on the producer and vintage.

The Producer: Freres Bruno and Jean-Michel Pieaux are fourth generation vignerons who are harnessing the “tuffeau,” or soft chalk, clay and limestone soils of the region to produce high minerality wines.

The Why:This organic, dry-style Vouvray has notes of pear, meyer lemon and stoney minerality on the nose. The palate is both opulent and steely with hints of flint mingling with chamomile and honey.
